Has anyone else out there picked up the new TG album? I just bought a copy at the Amoeba in Hollywood, popped it into the CD player though I only got through a few tracks before I stopped the car, so I haven't listened to the whole thing yet . . .

THE INDUSTRIAL CULTURE FILM FESTIVAL

Part 1 occurs Sat Dec. 16, 2006 in San Francisco
and is being co-presented with Asphodel at their hidden lair:
Recombinant Media Labs

This is a very unique, state-of-the-art environment to see these
films, and mix with the San Francisco Industrial Culture community.
This event is in conjunction with several other screenings world-wide
to commemorate the upcoming 2007 release of the Live Throbbing Gristle
- RE~TG DVD.

It's a fairly small space, so we are making tickets available in
advance for the 3 screenings, which will be at: 6pm, 9pm and Midnight.
$15-$23 sliding scale.

I JUST got an email from Sleaz as to WHY TG "Part 2" IS delayed!

Basically, it's a 2 fold reason.........
1) he said the relationships in the band are somewhat strained.(as they ALWAYS seem to have been w/ TG)
2) And Sleaz said that with the NEW EMI/Mute distribution; they are trying to find the "right" time to release it.

So, it's basically the same typical bullsh#t that you get with a BIG name label...OH well-
- at least we WILL get the cd SOMEDAY!!

Chris Carter has now crossed OUT(with a line thru) the new upcoming "special" TG news events for 2006-07, and TG "Part 2" is NOW delayed, INDEFINITELY! :-(

Yes, SAD to SAY-
if you go to the C&C website and look at the current news; Chris has now put a line thru(crossing out) a WHOLE sentence of the "special" TG events to coum(that he posted in Jan), that he kept hinting at being: ..."to exciting to hold in, & I almost feel like bursting out and telling you"...

AND he also said that TG "Part 2" is now on hold indefinitley!!!
:-(
...and says(I am paraphrasing, but), SOMETHING along the lines of: " we gave it to Mute, all ready to go last September OF 2005! So, if you have any questions as to why this is now delayed, please feel free to ask Mute/EMI"...

This is getting SOOOO utterly ridiculous, I say that we ALL write/email Mute/EMI( as EMI is now a part of Mute, or EMI now owns Mute, or something like that) and tell them SO!

Anyone else with me?

One is called 'We Hate You' and a second one 'In formation'.
There is the Mutant CD on Mute Records
Chris Carter remixed old TG tracks on 'EAR3'.

I know Cassandra Complex did 'Something came over me' in the 80ies.

Psychic TV did 'United'

Does anyone know other covers?

A new msg from Chris Carter, on his website states, that the "the new TG album "part two" might to be pushed back again( long story, DONT ask why)."

So, I am kind of bummed, as they ARE already pressed....beacuse TG WAS going to sell them at the New Years gig in Berlin, but was asked NOT to by Mute...so I don't know what the deal is...

But, I HOPE it does NOT get delayed, as I myself can't WAIT 'till it comes out , ...as well as the LONG overdue TG "Astoria" DVD too!

2: 4.25pm Sunday - The start of our Resonance Watch - ok, let’s randomly turn on and listen: Some kind of strange Germanic sounding oompha band with a flute, no, Eastern European? Threatening to turn into a Polish polka - oh, it’s the “world’s favourite Jewish music show” called Something Jewish (I wasn’t that far off!) an easy going left field slightly tongue in cheek magazine show with a Jewish perspective…

3: 10.40pm Sunday - Just switched on to hear strange mellow industrial drones and talking crowd noises - oh it’s a live performance, the talking/drone was the crowd, they seem to be having a prize draw, to win who knows what? Hang on, it’s Stokey Churchy - kite flying and lit-art rapping from deepest Stoke Newington and someone called Skanky and someone else called Doctor Fingerpaint and don’t ask me what’s going on now, just get to your radio and find out…….

4: 10.10am - Monday morning and I can’t work out if this is some kind of pagan ritual or maybe a native north American thing that I’ve just tuned into. Now there’s a cat purring and the gentle hum of traffic and a whispered spoken word thing from an intriguingly soft-spoken American girl. She’s talking about the wind and car engines and the sun like a beacon and all day is mid day, she’s really whispering now…. Arctic Sun/Arctic wind by Audrey somebody or other (sorry, didn’t catch the name, rude of me). Now it’s music from Linda O’Keith and a track called Tuning In Section One - which seems to be all to do with the act of tuning in your radio!

5: 11.28am Monday Morning still. Right now it’s the KLF and the Red Army choir and they just had an interview with Bill Drummond and Mark Manning (Zodiac Mindwarp) about their new book, and now they’re talking about a photography journalist exhibition - seems to be some kind of rather good informative arts review show

6: 1.38pm Wednesday - interviewing people in a super market in Scotland about Fair Trade goods and why and who and how it touches people’s lives…. Talking about a boy being deported to back Angola from the UK at the age of 15 and his terrified father committing suicide instead (read more at indymediauk.org - Indymedia is always worth checking out but that’s another thing for another day)

7: 6.12pm Saturday - Lots of cool 60’s sounding French crooner/film soundtrack stuff, all lush strings and big arrangements and it’s Johnny Trunk with a show called OST - Original film soundtracks, a two hour show every Saturday.

8: 7.17pm Saturday - The Truth About Markets with Max Keiser And Stacy Herbert. Financial markets and economic analysis and conspiracy theories - theories about the head of an airline who always take the train…..why Tesco’s are so bad and how you’re making yourself poorer by buying their cheap food and how those loyalty bonus cards are just modern day slave chains and he knows, he’s been involved in Wall Street (so he keeps telling us) and he warns of the evils of the politeness of neo-liberalism and how America kills any journalist who tries to find out about the truth in Iraq, and who’s really behind the terrorism and is it Kate Moss and Tesco’s?

9: 11.19pm Saturday - some really good banging hardcore techno - “exclusive live set coming up from Monkey State, first here comes some nice warm dub….” Followed by some erratic D n’b from Shitmat “and next up a nice bit of gabber from DJ Skinhead called Extreme Terror” - 1, 2, 3, 4 bang bang bang wooooooooooaaaaggghhhhh, bang bang bang….next week it’s a special show with DJ Wrongspeed… and now at midnight a change of Show and some Psychic TV followed by a documentary about the CIA and their operations against Cuba and they infiltrated via the Olympic organisation and this appears to be a programme originally broadcast on altenativeradio.org - and now I have to go investigate them….

10: 1.00am Sunday - Interview with Gina Birch from the Raincoats and a feature on women in punk/post-punk and attitudes that the Raincoats encountered and the effect of Riot Grrrl and the influence of those Poison Girls (a fine thing to be listening to as we put this issue of Organ together…..). Now Gina is playing live in the cramped Resonance studio - a little studio above a restaurant in Denmark Street.

There’s all kinds of good things on Resonance, it’s always worth turning on, sometimes you can get yourself hooked for hours and hours, and yes, occasionally they can catch you off guard and you think “what the hell is this pretentious crap?”. What the hell, one man’s meat etc... Our ResonanceFM Watch experiment proves the sheer brilliance is in the majority. Haven’t mentioned Calling All Pensioners - a suprisingly aggressive pensioners action show that you just have to check out, the Kosmische show is always good, Xanurtsian Nights from Max Benezeth is always good. Max presents a rather seductive stylish Anglo-French electronica show in his very own very warm way. Not in London? The web site has archives and most importantly good quality live streaming. If you’re on the outskirts of the city, give the airwaves a try - The Other Rock Show has listeners in Staines and Kent! Let’s not forget that ResonanceFM is a legal, licenced station supported by listener donations and benefit gigs and all but two of the many DJs, administrators and engineers are unpaid volunteers! What was the first TG track you ever heard & or Favorite... & how did it impact you?

~ mine was Hamburger Lady... Late 80's... I was already familiar with Psychic TV at the time... But a friend put an LP on & said... "you've got to hear this"... add some freaky lights... gettin your buzz on... & Turn up as loud as possible with all the Low Bass Tones driving through the pit of your stomache.

Never the same after that.... Just that one song melted my brain a bit... definate influence.

We continue our Fiercely Independent, annual DIY collaborative Event focused on exploring ARTISTIC INDETERMINACY and just what it means to be a BURNING MANN and Post POST-PUNK in the modern world. We've stepped up the art focus this year and turned the reins over to the SHIPYARD and the FLAMING LOTUS GRRLS. We've also invited three bus loads of "Modern Primitive" extreme performers. It's hard to classify just exactly what these very real Freaks do, but needless to say it is Extreme performance.

There are no slackers in this years lineup. The list is overwhelming! Everyone promises to DESTROY!

HISTORY: In the early 1980s, gaggles of crazed angst ridden youth, sharing who-knows-what drugs, safety pins and multicolored hair products, were bussed out to the Mojave desert to unleash their Extreme culture to the cosmos. Los Angeles Punk/Post-Punk Scene icons such as
BLACK FLAG, SAVAGE REPUBLIC, the MINUTEMEN and RED KROSS were joined by the likes of EINSTURZENDE NEUBAUTEN, S.R.L. and NoN to raise up their mutual FIERY FISTS OF FURY and ask the Burning Bush just "What the F*Ck?". Munitions of every shape and size exploded. The desert burned. Minds Fried. Culture Shifted.

DESTROY 2005: This years events takes this Invariant reference point, and Worm Holes past the Northern "Rave in the other Desert" to present an Apocalyptic festival of Extreme energy, Quantum Contradiction, and Sardonic Conservatism.

Koolarrow Records proudly announces it's next release, "Sanctuary", Einstürzende Neubauten founding member Alexander Hacke's solo CD, joined by members of The Jesus Lizard, The Germs, Swans among others, for a worldwide release date of May 17, 2005.

"Sanctuary" is the lovechild of his creative affair with some of the most disturbingly fertile minds in the music scene. Inherent in the album's conceptual framework is his postulate that location has an enormous impact on perception; to illustrate this point, Hacke has traveled the globe for the past two years. Armed with knapsack's worth of recording gear,he captured pieces of audio from a variety of musicians in different situations. These sonic "keepsakes" were then filtered, distorted, processed, and re-assembled back home in Berlin in order to build his "sanctuary", and ultimately the 11 tracks that make this CD.

But there is a visual element to this theme as well: accompanying the cd there is also a 16 panel booklet, each panel a photo of the souvenirs he collected in the making of each track. Lastly, the enhanced cd also contains video footage shot during the making of the album, along with interviews with the contributing musicians.
